Polyester Resins

Polyester Resins

Our enhanced polyester resins comprise a new family of thermoplastic polyester alloys that exhibit a unique combination of high impact strength and high elongation properties. These polymers have a notched Izod impact of 12-15 ft.-lb./in. tensile strength over 5,000 psi and elongation of 250% to 500%. These polyesters are ductile in response to stress and can be made very rigid with reinforcements. These are super tough materials with excellent solvent resistance and very good low temperature toughness.

Our polyester offers an extremely attractive balance of cost and performance compared with widely used engineering materials like PET, PBT, PC/ABS and PC.

The polyester resins are opaque white in their natural state and are easily colored for most any appearance application.

Our polyesters have uses in couplings, shoe soles, motor mounts, automotive boots, tubing, seals, hot combs, machine housings, tool jackets, ax handles, and other applications requiring toughness.

General Processing Conditions: For extrusion typical barrel temperatures should be 500-520 °F. Die temperatures may be as high as 590 °F. Injection molding barrel temperatures will typically be 480-510 °F. Mold temperatures will typically be 150-200 °F. Polymer should be dried for 4 hours at 220 °F before processing.
